Etracker-PE™ This is the interface used for model calibration, general what-if studies, and diagnostic evaluations. Making use of information from the eSTPE Audit Library Database, Etracker-PE is used to develop typical degradation examples for inclusion in the Etracker-Symptoms Library. Etracker-PE can be used with any Etracker-Models that have been developed and are available. Calibration is necessary to define the highest level of performance that the user considers is practically achievable for their unit when in clean and well-maintained condition. Data used for the model calibration activity is preferably taken from a well-run acceptance test, if such a test was performed for the unit. Otherwise calibration information is obtained from a VWO heat balance or similar source. Individual component efficiencies, flow handling capability, line pressure drops, etc. can be adjusted so that when run at design conditions the model characteristics match the user's expectations. What-if studies are typically undertaken to determine how the unit will perform at other than design conditions. What if we use full arc instead of sequential admission control? What is the impact of sliding pressure operation? What happens if we have to take a heater out of service? These are some of the kinds of questions that can readily be answered using Etracker-PE. Diagnostic analysis is an important use for Etracker-PE. There is a degradation menu that permits changing many detailed component characteristics, running the program and then determining if the results match those that are being measured. Among the characteristics that can be modified are:
Etracker-PE is the program used to develop the characteristics for the examples in Etracker-Degradation Symptoms Library. |
